2020 AIA Shanghai | Beijing Citation Award for Architecture
At the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Shanghai | Beijing Annual Gala held on December 5th in Shanghai, two projects by EID Arch, LAND Community Center and Cambridge Robotics Valley, stood out from 150 projects submitted by design firms both domestic and international. Both projects made it to the final selection for the 2020 AIA China Regional Excellence in Design Award. This made EID Arch one of the design firms with the most shortlisted projects in this year’s awards. Among them, LAND Community Center won the AIA Shanghai | Beijing Citation Award for Architecture 2020.
LAND Community Center creates a porous and permeable urban interface through the vertical organization of buildings with different functional attributes. This design maximizes urban public spaces and civic areas, constructing an open and inclusive multidimensional community. It creates a flexible boundary between the city and the community, allowing for multiple interpretations of the space.
